Community Events

Made in Millbrook has brought people together through workshops, research activities, co-production sessions and public events. These gatherings have created opportunities for residents, community researchers, artists, project partners and local organisations to share ideas, explore Millbrook’s history and take part in shaping how the project’s work is developed and presented.

The events have also provided space to celebrate the area’s creativity, discuss emerging findings and encourage wider conversations about Millbrook’s past, present and future. From smaller participatory sessions to larger community celebrations, each event has helped strengthen local connections and ensure that the project remains rooted in the experiences and priorities of the people involved.

3July 26 - Co-Production Day

Around 35 people attended the Made in Millbrook Co-production Day at the Testlands Green Lane Hub. The event gave the community researchers an opportunity to present their emerging findings to an invited audience of residents, project partners, local stakeholders and dignitaries.

Participants discussed the stories and priorities identified through the research and considered how the project’s findings and creative work could be shared with the wider community. The day provided valuable feedback while ensuring that the community researchers’ knowledge and perspectives remained central to the project.

18 July 26 - Made in Millbrook Showcase

More than 100 people attended the Made in Millbrook Showcase at Youth Options’ MP3 Centre on Mansell Park. Visitors explored exhibits created by the community researchers, discovering the stories, experiences and findings uncovered through their work.

The showcase took place alongside Millbrook FC’s Big Day Out, bringing the project’s research to a wider local audience while helping to raise funds for the football club. The event provided an opportunity to celebrate the community researchers’ achievements and share their work with residents, families and visitors.
